Flat Abs in the Gym
Resistance training seems to be the key to getting those flat abs everyone would love to show off. Of course cardio helps a bit and diet is very important and a necessary component to reduce your body fat enough to see them, but without weight training it’ll be difficult.
At first it seems counter intuitive because weight training doesn’t burn as many calories as cardio does minute per minute while training. But where weights shine is their ability to burn calories LONG AFTER the exercise session is over.
That’s because weight training, at a high enough intensity, creates changes in your body. For one it releases growth hormone which will tone you up and burn bodyfat throughout the day. It will also speed up your metabolism during the day since your body will have to expend energy and resources to repair and adapt your body for its next exercise session.
So more muscle tone and more body fat burned = abs.
