Types of Juice
So you want to lose weight FAST and decided that consuming nothing but juice is your path forward for the next couple of days?
It works. It’s not the best long term strategy but hey, who cares? We need to look good here. Priorities mate.
So yeah, juice fasts rock. And you will lose weight … FAST. But what kind?
***Note: A juice fast can be for quick weight loss alone or to prepare for a new diet, in which case it’s typically done for 1-3 days before a person embarks on a diet. The purpose is to kick start the metabolism and give the body a boost before the chosen diet gets underway. Juice Fasters generally drink fresh fruit and vegetables they juice at home. The information in this post is for all cases of juice fasting.
Here’s what you don’t want:
1- Juices from the store that have added sugar in them.
If you don’t drink too much of them you can still lose weight, but why take in all that sugar and worsen your health when you don’t have to? Juices without sugar are just as – if not more – satisfying.
2- Juices from the store that don’t have added sugar in them.
Unless you’re buying pure vegetable juice, most of the fruit juices at the grocery store are high in natural sugars, which are much better than added table sugar (sucrose), but still will spike your insulin which is what you want to avoid for health and weight loss reasons.
Here’s what you do want:
Juices that are mainly made up of fresh fruit and vegetables, preferably with strong vegetable content, that you juice yourself at home with a juicer, or that you get from a fresh juice place.
If you follow that rule then it really doesn’t matter what kid of juice you drink each day.
*** The exception to that would be if you drank lots of juice made with lots of fruit that had higher levels of naturally occurring sugars in them. Examples of these types of fruit are:

Juice fasts make you lose weight quickly because they are almost like fasting, where you eat nothing, except with juicing you take in a few calories, a TON of power-packed nutrients, vitamins and minerals, and something delicious to look forward to which helps you get through the day.
So yeah, you will lose weight quickly with any one of the above juice recipes. Just make sure you talk to a nutritionist or doctor before starting a juice fast or any new diet.
Take Note
If you’ve never tried a juice fast before and your body is not fat adapted it can be difficult. Being fat-adpated means that your body is used to eating low carbs like the Keto and Paleo diets, or is used to fasting. If you are not used to it and are going from a regular diet to any kind of fast, whether it’s a water fast or juice fast, you may have mild flu symptoms like light-headedness, feeling bad and low energy. Just be aware of that before you begin.
